Join us for our Dunfermline Founders meetup! Open to all entrepreneurs, founders, and everyone involved with tech startups in Dunfermline and further across Fife.
Come along and meet other founders and members of the CodeBase team.
This will be an opportunity to meet like-minded folk working within the Dunfermline and Fife tech sector, share ideas, learning and get inspired. You will also have the opportunity to share what you need from the community and how you could potentially help others.
At this meetup, you'll also have the chance to hear from two leading Scottish tech founders and industry experts in an insightful Fireside Chat featuring Robin Knox, moderated by Steven Gillan.
Together, they'll delve into key challenges of scaling a business, sharing practical advice and valuable insights. This is a unique opportunity to engage in discussions, ask questions, and connect with like-minded founders, investors, and professionals. Strengthen your network and stay up-to-date on the latest trends within Scotland's thriving tech ecosystem
What can I expect?
This will be a relaxed social event aimed at facilitating new connections between founders in the Dunfermline and Fife region.
We'll have some light snacks and refreshments available for all attendees.
When and where is it taking place?
This event will take place 12:00 - 14:00 on Tuesday 17 September at the Carnegie Library Fife, located on 1 Abbot Street, Dunfermline, Fife KY12 7NL.

This event is open to Techscaler members and other tech startup founders in Dunfermline and Fife Region.

Who will be speaking?
Robin Knox
Robin Knox is the CEO and co-founder of Seamless POS, a UK-based startup offering innovative, iPad and cloud-based point-of-sale solutions for small hospitality businesses. Robin’s entrepreneurial journey began with the co-founding of Intelligent Point of Sale, a groundbreaking tech company that transformed POS systems for SMEs. His success led to the acquisition of Intelligent Point of Sale by iZettle in 2016, which was subsequently acquired by PayPal in 2018.
Beyond his work with Seamless POS, Robin is an active angel investor, having invested in numerous Scottish tech companies. His business ventures extend beyond tech; he has owned and operated a variety of retail and leisure-focused businesses. Robin also has substantial property interests, including a house-building company, holiday let developments, and residential long-term lettings.A key figure in the Scottish tech community, Robin is dedicated to fostering innovation, mentoring emerging entrepreneurs, and contributing to the growth of the local startup ecosystem.
Steven Gillan
Steven Gillan is the founder and director of Digiflec, a company specialising in 3D LiDAR sensors and digital services for smart city and ITS initiatives. His diverse background includes working as a miner in Scotland and Australia, followed by a career in technical sales of construction machinery. In response to being made redundant during the COVID-19 pandemic, Steve founded Digiflec, leveraging his practical experience to enter the world of urban innovation technology. Despite being a non-technical founder, Steve has successfully grown Digiflec to a team of eight professionals based in Scotland.Digiflec provides cutting-edge spatial monitoring technology and data solutions that enable detailed analysis of people-transport interactions, support infrastructure improvements, and offer insights into the impacts of urban development. A standout feature of Digiflec is its self-funded growth, reflecting Steve's commitment to sustainable business practices.
As the company enters its next growth phase, Steve is exploring external investment opportunities while maintaining Digiflec's core values and Scottish roots. Steve's journey from mining to tech entrepreneurship demonstrates his adaptability, vision, and perseverance in bridging practical experience with emerging technologies.
What is a tech startup founder?
A tech startup founder is someone who has the ambition to create a product or offering with technology at it's core, whether you are pre-startup or have been established for years. All we ask is that you are actively working on a tech product concept and could benefit from spending an evening with other like-minded founders in the area.
Registration
We ask everyone to sign up individually, so we can have an estimate of how many people want to attend, this will allow us to prevent food waste by avoiding over-catering. Please cancel your ticket if you are no longer able to attend.
We will also check-in each person on Eventbrite as they join the event so make sure you've signed up to the event in order to attend!
