Neuron is a Scotland-based startup building AI-powered agentic systems that automate business operations and unlock efficiency. At its core, Neuron helps businesses leverage AI agents to handle reporting, administrative processes, and decision-making tasks — often without needing complex technical expertise.
Founded by Mohamed “Mo” Zamzam and Shiv K., Neuron’s story started inside the Techscaler early stage accelerator programme delivered by CodeBase. Mo brought two decades of enterprise sales and technology leadership; Shiv brought hands-on product and technical build experience. Their complementary skills met at just the right time.
This case study explores how Techscaler’s ecosystem, from founder matchmaking to international exposure, became the catalyst for Neuron’s formation and accelerated growth as an emerging AI platform.
For Mo, Neuron began as an idea shaped by timing. While completing his Executive MBA from the University of Edinburgh, he observed the meteoric rise of ChatGPT and saw how large language models could solve real business problems. His original concept centred on making business reporting conversational, allowing non-technical users to extract insights without complex data science.
Shiv brought a complementary angle, focused on operational efficiency — using AI agents to reduce manual admin tasks. Their combined expertise of enterprise sales, technical architecture and product design fused into a flexible platform capable of tackling multiple business pain points.
Together, they committed to building something scalable, globally relevant, and deeply customer-led.

As Mo entered Techscaler, he brought sharp self-awareness of what Neuron needed at this earliest stage. More than just knowledge, he sought alignment, accountability, and rapid learning.
Techscaler’s early stage accelerator programme offered exactly the environment Mo needed: an opportunity to find a technical co-founder equally committed to building something ambitious, while also validating market demand directly through customer conversations. He aimed to immerse himself within Scotland’s startup ecosystem to unlock mentoring, introductions, and practical support.
This deliberate approach allowed Mo to balance building relationships with testing early assumptions — all within a community designed to accelerate founder journeys.

At the very first session of the accelerator, Mo met Shiv K. Almost immediately, it was clear their experiences complemented one another. Shiv’s product and technical depth balanced Mo’s enterprise sales expertise. Both shared not only aligned ambitions to build an AI business but a similar appetite for risk and scale. Over the following weeks, through both programme sessions and informal meetings, they formalised their co-founding partnership.

With co-founders in place, Techscaler’s wider ecosystem offered structure and momentum.
The regular sessions provided early accountability, helping Mo and Shiv K. move from initial discussions into deliberate planning cycles.
Community events and networking opportunities allowed them to engage with Scotland’s startup scene and connect with other founders navigating similar challenges.
Shiv’s participation in Techscaler’s Silicon Valley international programme became a pivotal moment. By proactively arranging meetings with Scottish founders based in San Francisco, Shiv gathered valuable first-hand insights into the US funding landscape, particularly around raising pre-seed capital.
Those conversations directly shaped Neuron’s strategic decision to do a Delaware Flip, allowing them to attract US venture funding while keeping operations rooted in Edinburgh.
Techscaler became much more than just a starting point for Mo and Shiv K. On day one of the programme, Mo met Shiv, forming the co-founding team that would define Neuron’s trajectory. That early connection allowed them to move quickly from idea to execution with complementary strengths — product and technology on one side, enterprise sales and go-to-market on the other.
Their participation in Techscaler’s Silicon Valley cohort opened further doors. By meeting with Scottish founders and investors in San Francisco, they gained critical insights into the US venture capital landscape at a pre-seed stage. Those conversations directly shaped their decision to structure Neuron with a US investment entity while keeping core operations in Edinburgh.
At home, Techscaler’s community provided an equally valuable network. Engaging with other founders gave them access to candid advice, shared experiences, and peer support. That ecosystem of openness and collaboration continues to underpin Neuron’s momentum as they build into new markets.
Neuron’s first year has seen rapid progress, marked by customer-led development, operational wins, and strategic funding. Rather than building in isolation, Neuron worked directly with real customers from the outset, shaping the platform based on live feedback. Their agility allowed them to serve multiple sectors early while refining product foundations for broader scale.
Focusing on enterprise-readiness, efficient fundraising, and customer delivery, they quickly turned momentum into measurable outcomes:

The Techscaler programme delivered by CodeBase offered a valuable mix of structure, community, and opportunity, contributing to both Neuron’s early traction and Mo’s growth as a founder.
