Tavora (formerly Your Spin) is a startup from Scotland and is transforming how brands activate in hospitality venues. At its core, Tavora brings gamification into the ordering experience turning everyday customer interactions into opportunities for play, rewards, and brand connection.
Founded by Eilidh Mutch, Tavora emerged from a deep understanding of the hospitality industry, paired with a desire to reimagine how people engage with venues post-pandemic. After joining Techscaler by CodeBase in early 2024, Eilidh took part in the Silicon Valley Founder cohort and later the 12-week Startup Next Steps programme, helping her refine Tavora’s growth strategy and build momentum across product, partnerships, and leadership.
This case study explores how the association with Techscaler and CodeBase, from mentorship to international exposure, became a springboard for Eilidh’s evolution as a founder and Tavora’s development as a platform.
The idea for Tavora originated while Eilidh was working behind bars at university. After the pandemic, she noticed a sharp decline in footfall at venues; people were gaming online but less inclined to go out. This insight led to the concept of integrating gamification into hospitality venues to rebuild social energy.
What began as a way to boost customer engagement evolved into a broader platform that also incentivises staff and supports brand-led activations. Convincing traditional venues to try something new posed an early challenge, as did refining the product through real-world usage. These early obstacles shaped the platform’s development and reinforced the need for strategic thinking and industry insight.

When Eilidh joined CodeBase and Techscaler, her primary aim was to grow as a founder while embedding Tavora in a wider innovation ecosystem. Rather than focusing on a single business metric, she sought a community, founders with similar experiences, mentorship, and practical tools to support the next phase of growth.
She was especially interested in connecting with experienced tech advisors and fellow founders. Access to grant navigation support, funding opportunities, and operational perks were also valuable additions at her stage of growth.

Eilidh’s Techscaler experience unfolded through a series of touchpoints that helped shape Tavora’s direction and supported her growth as a founder. The Silicon Valley international programme gave Eilidh exposure to a faster, bolder way of building, expanding her vision of Tavora as a scalable business. Structured mentorship added focus and accountability, with regular check-ins helping her make more intentional decisions around leadership and operations.

This was followed by the Startup Next Steps course, Techscaler's growth accelerator, which combined practical learning with strong peer support. The course’s weekly sessions sparked conversations with peers and built a sense of community from day one, leading to lasting relationships.
One of those proved instrumental during Tavora’s rebrand. A quick message to a fellow founder with a similar past experience led to immediate, actionable guidance.
Pitch coaching further strengthened the experience, helping Eilidh strengthen her skills and step into high-stakes opportunities like EDGE with clarity and confidence.
Together, these experiences formed a layered support system that continues to influence Eilidh’s momentum today.
Since completing the programme, Tavora has expanded its venue integrations and introduced staff-facing features like prize-based competitions to enhance engagement.
While revenue growth results from a range of factors, Eilidh credits Techscaler with playing a catalytic role. The network opened doors to brand partnerships through warm introductions, accelerating commercial conversations that may have taken far longer otherwise.
The experience also had a clear impact on her leadership approach. As a founder, Eilidh has grown more confident in navigating leadership transitions and assembling a team equipped for scale — a shift supported by ongoing conversations with mentors and peers who understand the challenges of building something from the ground up.
The Techscaler programme delivered by CodeBase offered a valuable mix of structure, community, and opportunity, contributing to both Tavora’s traction and Eilidh’s journey as a founder.
For founders considering joining the Techscaler programme, Eilidh’s advice is simple: make the most of it. With the right level of engagement, the tools and support available can truly help unlock what’s next.
