Lunch n Learn: Prospect Tech Workers Union [Edinburgh]

  • CodeBase Edinburgh 37a Castle Terrace Edinburgh, Scotland, EH1 2EL United Kingdom (map)

A conversation with Prospect on tech and trade unions for founders in the tech ecosystem.

What is it?

Prospect is a trade union which supports and represents a community of more than 157,000 members who work as civil servants, scientists, engineers and professionals in other specialist roles across the public and private sectors. We have a growing membership in the Tech sector with members working in software, coding, data analysis, AI and engineering. Workers in technology and games companies are taking an interest in becoming organised and having conversations around stress, working hours, the gender pay gap and equality at work and the Prospect Tech Sector branch is ensuring the voice of our members is heard. Prospect wants to work with employers in the sector, to ensure that good employment practices are shared and that we use the unions’ campaigning experience to lobby for a sector that is fairly regulated and can continue to grow, provide decent employment and drive progress in the UK economy.

We are keen to meet with members of Codebase community, to talk about what the union offers members as individuals and how we can work with you on promoting our shared values.
