Firstly we'll hear from three founders (one from each university) about their business journeys with time for audience questions. Then we'll be hearing from our guest speaker Greg Summers.
Lucy Nicholl is an Abertay Business Management Graduate. She's the founder of Nicholl HR, a HR Consultancy covering Tayside and beyond and has just launched her second business, Ten57, a cafe in Forfar. She's passionate about business, employees rights, the environment and advocating for young people that may not realise their potential and opportunities available to them
Thomas Barton – Founder of Placementt – When looking for work placements, thousands of students have few to no contacts, limiting their career prospects. Placementt will level the playing field of student opportunity, by creating an interconnected network of businesses, students and educators, and providing a comprehensive, UK-wide database of opportunities. Through this platform, Placementt will enhance the quality, safety, and inclusivity of placements nationwide, providing equal opportunities for all students. Tom is a second-year PhD student at the University of Dundee. With support from his co-founder, Daisy, and a dedicated team, Placementt has already impacted over 2000 students across 10 secondary schools and multiple universities. Placementt will transform the placement industry across the country and beyond, inspiring the young workforce to realise their full potential and pursue fulfilling careers.
Ideja Bajra – Founder of EdvanceAI – AI automation agency that combines the prowess of AI with the dynamic e-learning sector to improve the efficiency and content of educational technology platforms across the globe. Addressing challenges such as student engagement and timely support, EdvanceAI focuses on enhancing customer service for online education platforms. AI-powered chatbots are deployed and tailored for e-learning, aiming to optimise user interactions and streamline support. Ideja is a 3rd year cell biology student at the University of St Andrews. She has had had a passion for STEAM education and advocacy for as long as she can remember, leading to the creation of the non-profit, based In Science, and co-founding a student-led publication, STATIC St Andrews.
Greg Summers is an international presenter, business communication trainer and speaker. Greg works with some of the biggest names in business helping them focus on delivering the highest quality public speaking, presenting, sales pitching, media engagement and networking.
