Picture this: a relaxed atmosphere, inspiring conversations and speakers, drinks, and pizza. This is your golden opportunity to reconnect with fellow founders and start building a supportive community. We listened to your feedback and this edition will focus on funding.
Joining us will be Alex Rowe - Co-Founder of Isobel VC - a brand new pre-seed and seed stage venture capital fund based in Glasgow. A St Andrews graduate (Economics (MA Hons), 2015), Alex held a number of business development and marketing roles in early stage tech startups in London following his graduation, before joining Growthdeck, a private investor network. He subsequently joined FinTech startup, gohenry, where he helped to raise £8m+ in just 18 months as part of the finance team, leading a £6m equity crowdfunding campaign, the largest in the UK at the time. Most recently, he was Head of Investment at Raising Partners, an early stage investment advisory firm where he worked with almost 200 startups including Plum Guide, Thread, Wombat, Penfold, Zero Petroleum, The Curators, InvestEngine and &SISTERS, raising over £65m over 4 years. He also published the single first piece of academic research into UK equity crowdfunding and co-founded a St Andrews alumni investor network.
Alex will chat about the fundamentals of seeking investment, when to start, how to find the right investor and will share a raft of resources for you to take away.
