AccelerateHER x CodeBase Tech Clinic #4: Developing your product

  • CodeBase Edinburgh 37a Castle Terrace Edinburgh, Scotland, EH1 2EL United Kingdom (map)

This workshop, led by Julie Grieve, for early stage female/non-binary founders will focus on developing your idea and experimenting to prove customer value, so that you can start to turn it into a viable software product.

We’ll cover the following topics:

  • What problem are you solving? Ensuring you have a clear problem statement to use for hypothesis testing & development

  • Will it actually work? Thinking critically about your solution and testing components in real life

  • How to talk about it and work with developers? Using the language of product development and understanding the product development cycle

This will be a practical and interactive workshop, with lots of opportunities to work with other founders and gain practical, actionable feedback on your ideas. You will leave the session with a clear idea of the next steps you need to take to turn your idea into a product you can build and take to market.

Preparation: Please bring along a problem statement that describes your idea.

Format: This is a hybrid session at CodeBase Edinburgh, and you can attend in person or online depending on your preference. Please just let us know how you plan to attend when you sign up using 'Attend In-person' or 'Attend online' tickets.

About Julie Grieve

Julie Grieve is the founder of Criton, a guest engagement and integrations platform for the hospitality sector which she sold in 2022. Criton simplified digital transformation in the independent hotel sector. Julie set up and was CEO of Lateral City, a luxury serviced apartment operator in Scotland when she had the idea for Criton, having been frustrated at how static her guest information had become and how disconnected she found the hospitality tech world. Prior to Lateral City Julie was the MD of Abbey Business Centres, a serviced office company which she sold to Regus in 2011

Julie is also a Director of Women in Tourism and an Ambassador for Women’s Enterprise Scotland and she co-owns a gift shop with her husband.
