Bridging Communities

About this event

Following three sell-out events in Edinburgh, The Melting Pot and Startup Grind Scotland are delighted to announce Glasgow’s first cross-community networking event. We’re bridging communities to help you spark new connections and collaborations.

Your hosts, Helen and Anna, are obsessed with community. It is at the heart of everything they do. Whether in a professional setting or personal, their communities are their source of advice, support, inspiration and celebration, helping them grow into the leaders they are today.

But, as we all know, without challenging our perspectives, innovation slows and ideas silo. There is power in our comfortable spaces, but stepping out of our networks offers us a chance to build relationships with people with different worldviews, expertise and experiences – and create a lasting impact.

These chance encounters lead to great things: making new connections, sparking ideas, solving challenges, and innovating through the collision of perspectives.

In our first Glasgow event, we will explore what community means to us all, hearing personal stories of triumph, professional blunders and mistakes and, ultimately, how our networks can work together to develop a connected business ecosystem.

Join us on June 21st, where our speakers will share their stories about their communities, the impact it has had on them and what they learnt along the way.

What to expect:

  • Hear from cross-sector experts about how change has the power to transform, shake up and question the status quo

  • Learn about the different business communities in Glasgow

  • Share your business passions with like-minded people

  • Engage in facilitated, purposeful networking

  • Connect with peers and new friends in a casual setting

  • Share an ask or a project you’re excited for with the community
