About this event

What is it?

In August 2023, Techscaler by CodeBase put out an open call to emerging and early-career artists in Scotland to design a mural that reflects the principles of the Techscaler programme.

From those who applied, four were commissioned to create a mural design.

What can I expect?

Join us as we showcase the four designs and celebrate the amazing range of work produced. We will also announce which design has been chosen to be turned into a mural in the reception of CodeBase Edinburgh.

Nibbles and drinks will be provided.

About the commissioned artists:

Chiara Celini

Chiara Celini is a freelance illustrator and visual storyteller based in Edinburgh. Her work involves capturing the people, places and stories of our planet through uplifting and inclusive visuals.

Chiara's practice ranges from client-led work such as publications, marketing material and packaging to self-initiated projects including paintings and sustainable merchandise.

You can view more of Chiara's portfolio, shop and behind the scenes content via the links below.

Eva Blanch Ferré

Eva Blanch Ferré is an illustrator working between Edinburgh and Barcelona. After graduating in Fine Arts, she made the move to Edinburgh, where she currently resides. She is passionate about creating personal and vibrant drawings which tell stories, bringing humour and melancholy to the mundane.

Her focus is on the small things of everyday life, representing the reflection of the individual. She combines different techniques, using bold and colourful illustrations to create stylish and personal characters, along with hypnotic 2D animations. In general, she simply loves having fun with what she does!

Fiona Stabler

Fiona Stabler is an illustrator based in Edinburgh. Inspired by travel, observational drawing and comic books, she likes to use an approachable drawing style to tell stories. She enjoys art journaling, and sharing drawings from her life & adventures via Instagram.

Fiona graduated with a degree in Illustration from Edinburgh College of Art in 2018 and has gone on to create artwork for a range of local and international clients. She also runs her own Etsy shop selling art prints and stationery designs.

Kasia Kozakiewicz-Woodward

Kasia Kozakiewicz-Woodward is a freelance illustrator from Poland. After graduating in Architecture, followed by working within the field, she realised that it wasn't the path she wished to pursue. During the pandemic, she discovered a passion for digital drawing after purchasing a tablet for beginners, which led to her immediate pursuit of a career as an illustrator.

Her inspiration primarily comes from both nature and the observation of everyday life, and she spends quite some time hiking in the Scottish mountains, alongside discovering new coffee spots and running.
