Existing Medtech startups
What does Medtech mean?
Technology within healthcare has a broad scope but we will focus on three core areas which encapsulate our definition of Medtech:
Healthtech:
Improving better delivery, payment, and/or consumption of care: software, databases, applications, mobile devices, and wearables.
Medtech:
Diagnosis, patient care, treatment, and improvement of a person’s health. Mostly used in hospitals; oriented toward diagnosing and treatment vs prevention (typically regulated): equipment, devices, machines, software, and tools.
TechBio:
Using cutting-edge techniques from data-driven tech to transform drug discovery and patient care. This interface of biology and technology is often referred to as “techbio".
