Black Talent Key to Solving Scottish’s Skills gap

The inaugural Scottish Black Talent Summit will take place in Edinburgh on 31 October 2022 and gather Black Talent, Talent Acquisition and HR professionals, Diversity and Inclusion experts, industry players, Government and Local authorities’ representatives as well as University communities to discuss the extent to which Black talent, underrepresented communities, along with the development of innovative pathway to employment and solutions to improve diversity, equity & inclusion at workplace.
The Lack of relevant skills in the Scottish labour market and the mismatch between available levels of local competencies and market demand, is a major constraint to the employability of Scottish workforce. Scotland is also struggling to compete with other UK regions when it comes to attracting and retaining workers with the right skills
Many DataKirk community members and Black Talents find themselves unemployed and underemployed while Scottish companies struggle to find talent. There is no quick fix to closing the skills gap in Scotland. The Scottish Black Talent Summit will connect stakeholders including Black Talent, recruiters, employers and policy makers to educate to creating a more inclusive and diverse Scottish workforce.
